The itching caused by a mosquito bite is the body's reaction to the mosquito's saliva, which is injected during the biting process. Our immune system defends itself against the foreign saliva by releasing histamine. As a result, the blood vessels dilate, the bite swells and begins to itch. By heating the affected skin area with heat it®, various endogenous reactions are induced that can relieve itching and pain.
